OASIS

oasisThe CEF-OASIS project is financed by the CEF-Telecom program. The institutions involved are from Belgium (Open Knowledge Belgium, Stad Gent, iMEC y V-ICT-OR) and Spain (Ontology Engineering Group – UPM – and Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid – CRTM–).

The project focuses on the opening and reuse of data from local entities about public services and the public transport sector. For that purpose, we are going to work with european standards, also trying to extend them, and the results from some national, regional or local initiatives in both sectors. In the public services sector we’ll use vocabularies like CPSV (Core Public Service Vocabulary) for the provision of structured data about public services offered by the local entities. And in the public transport sector we’ll use vocabularies like GTFS, Linked GTFS, Linked Connections or the W3C Semantic Sensor Network Ontology for the representation of the most relevant aspects of public transport. In both cases, open data is going to be generated following the linked data paradigm so other organizations can reuse it. Good practices guidelines for that organizations will also be published.

Finally, during the Open Sumer Code (2017 and 2018) in Belgium, the generated data is going to be used for developing some applications to improve a lot of aspects related to public services and the mobility through public transport.
