Two articles by UPM Facultad de Informática researchers listed among the most cited articles of the IEEE Intelligent Systems journal

Two articles of the Ontology Engineering Group, School of Computer Science, UPM are among the most cited of the journal IEEE Intelligent Systems, as explained in the article The Most Cited Intelligent Systems Articles, appeared in last August's edition (vol. 23, no. 4, pp. 10-13).

The first article in question is the one signed by Mariano Fernández López and Asunción Gómez, entitled Building a Chemical Ontology designd Environment, published in 1999 in that journal (Vol.14, No. 1, pp. 1937-1946). This article has obtained a total of 206 citations since its publication.

The second article is signed by Oscar Corcho and Asunción Gómez entitled Ontology Languages for the Semantic Web, which was published in 2002 (vol. 17, No 1, pp. 1954-1960). This article has obtained a total of 148 citations since its publication.

The article reports the impact of articles published by that journal is signed by Daniel E. O'Leary, professor at the Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California) and former editor in chief of IEEE Intelligent Systems.

IEEE Intelligent Systems is a bimonthly publication of the IEEE Computer Society, aimed at software engineers, systems designers, information managers, researchers and professionals involved in finance, industry, health, defense and science in general. Its scope of dissemination is universal.

IEEE Intelligent Systems is backed by the British Computer Society and the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence.
