The J2SE developer position will be held in the Ontology Engineering Group, at the Computer Science School (Facultad de Informática) of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in the context of the European R&D project SEALS (http://www.seals-project.eu/)

J2SE developer with experience in the design and development of SOA and/or EAI applications based on ESBs.

Basic knowledge of Web technologies is required, including XML technologies (XML Schema, XSLT, XQuery, XPath), basic Web Services technologies (WSDL 1.1 y SOAP 1.1), advanced Web Services technologies (WS-I, WS-Addressing, WS-Policy, WS-Security, WS-ReliableMessaging, MTOM, WS-BPEL 2.0). Also, basic knowledge of messaging middleware (JMS) is necessary. It is also desirable that the candidate has basic knowledge of Web2.0 application development, using REST and related specifications (WADL).

From the development point of view, it is required experience in the development of web services using JAX-WS2, JAX-WSA, and JAXB. Additional knowledge and experience in the following open source frameworks is also valuable, in order:

  • Traditional Web Services development (Apache CXF)
  • JBI and/or OSGI based ESBs (Apache ServiceMix, FUSE ESB)
  • Web service integration and composition (Apache Camel)
  • Web service orchestration (Apache ODE)
  • Persistence(SQL, SPRING JDBC Support, MySQL)
  • XML (JAXB, JAXP)
  • Message oriented middleware (Active MQ)
  • REST web services development (JAX-RS)

Basic knowledge in virtualization technologies, as well as experience using the VMWare virtualization platform will be also valued.

Good skills in written and spoken English are also necessary.

We will also value the ability of the candidate in team-working and communication as part of a multinational and multidisciplinary team.

What we offer:

The candidate will form part of the Ontology Engineering Group team, collaborating with several prestigious international research groups in the context of the SEALS project (http://www.seals-project.eu/), funded by the Seventh framework programme of the European Union, under a full-time contract with a salary ranging between €31.000 and €40.000 (depending on the qualifications and skills of the candidate) till the finalization of the Project in July 2012. The contract might be extended to continue working other projects of similar characteristics.
